Riley Wayne Hill

It’s not like with Finley I was miss super organized and had a scrapbook or anything but at least I made notes each month about our little lady and her BIG personality. I think I wanted to make sure I had something written I didn’t totally forget Finley’s babyhood, I also wanted to have some notes for next time! And I’ve been so thankful to be able to look back and say oh yeah Finley did the same thing by Ry’s age... can totally see if we have a third we’ll do it with our eyes closed.

Our little ‘Ry Guy’ just turned one (ahhhhhhhhhhh) and I am totally still wrapping my head around it. Hurts to admit but I do feel like I will actually forget about his babyhood. Talk about a crazy year. He was a pretty terrible sleeper and I really can’t fault him for it – no routine, moving around the world, sleeping in our room, the list goes on and on. That, combined with me being a total stay at home mom for the first time, led to my brain being total mush for the better part of his first year. Don’t get me wrong, we had a blast, I just don’t remember much of it. Things I’ll never forget though:

1.       His cheesy smile

2.       His love of eating

3.       His sweet, cuddly personality

4.       How he focuses on a task and gets so excited when he has something to work on

5.       Grunting when he poops

6.       How much he loves his sister

7.       The ladies at the grocery store calling him ‘happy boy’ or ‘lucky boy’ and him kicking his legs with joy

8.       His two-handed, excited wave

9.       Clapping his hands when we say ‘yay’

10.   His first steps at a Sydney brewery
